Well ConvergeSouth is finished and I'm back at my day job. I haven't had a chance to do the follow up phase of my trip, but wanted to drop a post in case anyone wanted to comment. More later.

I had lunch with a cohort today. He's a web developer and audio engineer. Much of the discussion centered around his audio editing and producing of local hip-hop and rap acts. We were talking about how many unsigned muscians there are these days and how it's changed form the day when you would kill for a record label deal. Anyway, we started musing about that it has been a long time since a new musical genre had come along. I mean, there's Ska and Electronica and Grunge and Heavy Metal and now Hip Hop etc. Seems like Hip Hop has had a pretty long run.

Are we in for an emerging music genre?
